A Still Life

I remember my art teacher when I was 12 years old who taught me the principles of creating a still life drawing or painting. I learned that in art I could capture time and not let it pass, but keep it as a secret keepsake in this treasure chest of life. Thank you to My First Love; My Lord and Savior. For it is He who gives and creates, teaching us through this journey. I am forever grateful to see His extraordinary glory in every ordinary moment.

"...be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth" Psalm 46:10

Standing Tall

Many times I look back to a place that inspired me. We celebrated our anniversary in the Gulf before the oil spill. I snapped this photo to hold that feeling I felt when I looked up. In the Northeast we have deciduous forests that reach from the hills. In the South, the palms point to the Creator and I am reminded of the strength of His creation. This past year so many people have been traumatized by nature's fury. My Redeemer still stands taller and it is been written that He bottles every tear shed. I am remembering 9-11 and asking for His goodness to prevail in the land of the living.
